Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has invited online applications for the recruitment of 660 Management Trainee (MT) vacancies for the year 2026. 2. Vacancy Breakdown (Discipline-wise)
Total Vacancies: 660 Posts. Distribution across various engineering branches is as follows:
- Mining Engineering: 300 Posts
- Civil Engineering: 100 Posts
- Electrical Engineering: 120 Posts
- Mechanical Engineering: 100 Posts
- Systems/IT: 40 Posts
3. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD).
- Final year students are also eligible to apply, provided they produce their degree at the time of interview.
Age Limit (As on May 1, 2026):
- Maximum Age: 30 Years (General/EWS).
- Age Relaxation: OBC (3 Years), SC/ST (5 Years), PwD (10 Years).
4. Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): An online exam consisting of two papers.
- Personal Interview: Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for an interview in a 1:3 ratio.
- Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to meeting the prescribed medical standards of CIL.
5. Exam Pattern (CBT)
The CBT will consist of two papers of 100 marks each, with no negative marking:
- Paper-I: General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English (100 MCQ).
- Paper-II: Professional Knowledge (Discipline Related) (100 MCQ).
- Total Duration: 3 Hours.
6. Salary & Bond
- Stipend during Training: Candidates will be placed in E-2 Grade with a basic pay of Rs. 50,000/-.
- On Completion: After successful completion of 1-year training, they will be promoted to E-3 Grade with a scale of Rs. 60,000 - 1,80,000/-.
- Service Bond: Selected candidates must serve the company for at least 60 months (Service Agreement Bond of Rs. 3 Lakhs).
