The Department of Posts (India Post) has officially announced the mega recruitment drive for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) positions for the 2026 cycle. This is one of the most anticipated notifications as it offers a direct entry into central governance footprints without any competitive written examination. Selection will be purely structured on automated merit scoreboards.
🚫 Absolute No Exam: Selection is based purely on the percentage obtained in your 10th Standard (Matriculation) board examinations.
🎂 Age Range Bracket: Minimum 18 Years and Maximum 40 Years (Standard upper limit relaxations apply for reserved communities).
💻 Computer Knowledge: Basic understanding of computers and smartphone operations alongside local cycle riding capability is mandatory.

2. Eligibility & Application Constants
- Mandatory Requirement: Must have passed 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
- Local Language Norm: The candidate must have studied the local language of the applied circle/state at least up to 10th standard.
- Application Fee Pool: Rs. 100/- for General / OBC / EWS (Completely Free / Rs. 0/- for SC, ST, and all Female candidates).
3. Selection Process & Automated Cut-Off Grid
Since there is no offline or online entry test node, the recruitment workflow functions on the system setup below:
- Candidates register their system files and lock state/division-specific preference grids.
- An automated algorithm processes 10th-grade percentage parameters up to 4 decimal accuracy points.
- A centralized merit list is declared. Shortlisted profiles undergo direct physical Document Verification (DV) routines.
