Selection Process & Examination Pattern

  1. Paper-I (Objective Computer Based Test):
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Questions (50 Marks)
    • General Awareness: 50 Questions (50 Marks)
    • General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical): 100 Questions (100 Marks)
    • Total Duration: 2 Hours (200 Questions, 200 Marks). Negative marking of 0.25 applies.
  2. Paper-II (Computer Based Technical Test):
    • Subject-specific General Engineering questions: 100 Questions (300 Marks).
    • Total Duration: 2 Hours. Negative marking of 1.00 mark per wrong answer.
  3. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Exam: Department allocation is finalized based on merit-cum-preference post DV. Medical standards (and physical efficiency tests for BRO) apply.

How to Submit SSC JE Online Application Form

  1. Visit the official Staff Selection Commission website at ssc.gov.in.
  2. Click on "Register Now" to complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered on the new portal.
  3. Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
  4. Navigate to the "Apply" tab and select "Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination".
  5. Fill in educational details, exam center preferences, and upload required documents along with a live photo capture via the official SSC app/webcam.
  6. Pay the ₹100 application fee online (exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Females) and take a final printout of the submitted form.
