SSC MTS & Havildar (CBIC & CBN) Recruitment 2026

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the much-awaited notification for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havildar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2026. With over 10,000+ vacancies, this is one of the biggest opportunities for 10th-pass candidates across India to secure a central government job.

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th Class) examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on the cut-off date.
  • Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India.
  • Age Limit (As on 01-01-2026):
    • MTS and Havildar in CBN (Department of Revenue): 18-25 Years.
    • Havildar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS: 18-27 Years.
    • (Age relaxation: OBC - 3 years, SC/ST - 5 years, PwD - 10 years).

3. Selection Process

The recruitment process will consist of the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Examination (CBT): Mandatory for both MTS and Havildar posts.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / PST: Only for the post of Havildar.
  3. Document Verification: Final merit list preparation.

4. Computer Based Examination Pattern

The exam will be conducted in two Sessions. Both sessions are mandatory on the same day.

5. Physical Standards for Havildar (PET)

  • Male: Walking 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Female: Walking 1 km in 20 minutes.

6. How to Apply Online?

  1. Visit the new official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
  2. If you haven't registered, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR).
  3. Log in with your Registration Number and Password.
  4. Click on 'Apply' in the MTS 2026 section.
  5. Select exam centers and upload a live photograph (using the SSC App or webcam).
  6. Pay the application fee of ₹100/- (Women/SC/ST/ESM/PwD are exempted).
  7. Submit and save the confirmation page.
