2. Category-Wise Educational & Age Criteria
Candidates must verify their residence and educational tracking standards before applying:
- Rural Home Guard (ग्रामीण): Must be a permanent resident of the respective block and have passed at least the 7th Standard examination.
- Urban Home Guard (शहरी): Must be a resident of the respective urban municipal corporation/town area and have passed the 10th Standard (Matric) examination.
- Age Parameters: The age limit for all candidates should be between 19 Years to 40 Years. Standard category buffers apply.

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards
The selection completely depends on physical evaluation benchmarks followed by a simple hindi writing test:
- Male Candidates: 1 Mile (1.6 KM) Race to be completed within 5 to 6 minutes for maximum points layout. High Jump (Min 4 Feet) and Long Jump (Min 12 Feet) parameters apply.
- Female Candidates: 1 Mile (1.6 KM) Race to be completed within 8 to 10 minutes. High Jump (Min 3 Feet) and Long Jump (Min 9 Feet) benchmarks apply.
