RRB ALP Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot Vacancies, Full Notification Out!

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the CEN No. 01/2026 for the massive recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP). With 11,127 vacancies across various zones, this is one of the biggest opportunities for technical students in India. The online application portal will be activated on May 15, 2026.

RRB ALP 2026: Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria (Revised)

1. Educational Qualification:

• Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in trades like Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright, Mechanic Radio & TV, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, etc.
• OR 3-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering.
• OR Degree in Engineering in the above-mentioned disciplines.

2. Revised Age Limit (As on July 1, 2026):

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years (Reduced from 33 in earlier cycles).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST (5 Years), OBC-NCL (3 Years), Ex-Servicemen (as per norms).

Selection Process (5 Stages)

Candidates must clear all the following stages to join Indian Railways as an ALP:

1. CBT-1: 75 Questions (Mathematics, Reasoning, Science, GA).
2. CBT-2: Two parts (Part-A for merit, Part-B is Trade-based qualifying).
3. CBAT: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (Psychometric).
4. Document Verification (DV): Checking original certificates.
5. Medical Examination: Must pass A1 Category medical standards (Distal Vision: 6/6 without glasses).
