Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) 18 - 33 Years B.Sc. Degree with Physics and Chemistry as core subjects with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
Initial Salary / Pay Level Level-6 (7th CPC): Initial Basic Pay of ₹35,400/- + DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other central railway perks.

Selection Process & Computer-Based Test (CBT) Pattern

The recruitment process comprises four mandatory stages:

  1. CBT Stage-1 (Screening Test): 100 Objective Questions | 90 Minutes Duration.
    Subjects: Mathematics (30 marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks), General Awareness (15 marks), and General Science (30 marks). Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deduction.
  2. CBT Stage-2 (Main Exam): 150 Objective Questions | 120 Minutes Duration.
    Subjects: General Awareness (15 marks), Physics & Chemistry (15 marks), Basics of Computers & Applications (10 marks), Basics of Environment & Pollution Control (10 marks), and Technical Abilities (100 marks).
  3. Document Verification (DV): Merit-listed candidates are screened for original academic credentials, caste certificates, and identity verification.
  4. Medical Examination: Strict physical fitness test (specifically Visual Acuity Standards like A-3, B-1, B-2) at nominated Railway Hospitals.
